Penguins

This week we learned all about the penguins living in Antarctica. We painted our own penguins using short brush strokes to create a feathered look.

The Blue Whale

For the month of January we are learning about Antarctica. We are learning about its climate and the animals that live there. This week we focused on the blue whale. We  painted our own blue whales and wrote about them.

A Special Visitor

We had a very special visitor all the way from the North Pole. He told us he has his bags of toys ready and that he’d  heard wonderful things about all the boys in Prefab 9.

Christmas Carols

After weeks of practise the boys put on a fantastic performance in the church today. They sang and looked like angels.

Aurora Borealis

We learned about the northern lights. Using chalk pastels we created our own aurora borealis.

Blast Off

Blasting into space with our rockets this week. The boys used card, lollipop sticks, pom poms and buttons to make stunning colourful rockets.

Aliens Love Underpants

This month we are learning about the moon and space. We used chalk pastels and oil pastels to create our own aliens in space. We took inspiration from the book Aliens Love Underpants.

Library Visit

We had a creative morning in Cabra Library enjoying Sprouting Scenes.

The Lord Mayor’s Visit

We had an exciting day today. The Lord Mayor of Dublin James Geoghegan came to visit us. We presented him with a beautiful piece of art and  sang him a song.

Haunted House

We constructed  haunted houses out of boxes, card and paper. They were terrifyingly good.
