Today, we conducted another experiment. We talked about what flowers need to grow. We put white flowers in water and food colouring. Before we went home, we could see some changes in our flowers. We are waiting patiently to see if we will observe more changes tomorrow.
After we discovered that sugar dissolves in water, we conducted our final, and favourite, experiment. We used sweets and water, and again, we began by predicting what we thought would happen.
We loved the patterns that the dissolving sugar made in the water!
Our second experiment involved mixing materials. First, we mixed salt and water.
Next, we mixed sugar and water.
Finally, we mixed oil and water.
We came up with some interesting predictions before we conducted our experiments! We were most interested in the oil and water mixture.
We had great fun in Room 1 today as we started our experimenting. Our first days’ work was all about mixing. We mixed colours to begin our investigations. Look at our great results!
In First Class we are learning all about bigger numbers. We like to play games and use concrete materials in maths! 
On Tuesdays we have GAA training with Mark. It is one of the highlights of our week in Room 1!
The boys have been busy getting ready for Halloween. They have worked on report writing in English and they have written super spider reports! We think that their spider themed art work is really impressive!
