Radiant Recount Writing!
In Room 1, the boys have worked very hard this term on their genre writing. So far, we have explored report writing, procedural writing and recount writing. This week, the boys completed their first completely independent piece of recount writing. They spent lots of time planning their writing and then produced this amazing work! We could not be prouder of them.
It’s beginning to look …… !!
We’re on our way to happiness!
Over the past two weeks in P.E, the boys in Room 1 have been learning and creating some super dances. Check out their amazing moves!
We’ve got the joy, joy, joy joy!
In First Class we are learning about big feelings and how we learn to feel our feelings. We have been talking about joy. We decided on a class definition of joy and then we talked about all of the things that made us feel joy in our lives. The boys also named some things that they can do if they want to feel joy, they came up with some super ideas. We loved their joyful pictures 🙂
Winter is un-brr-lievable!!
Amazing aliens and playful planets.
You make me feel like dancing!
The boys also enjoyed the dancing raisins experiment during Science Week. They put raisins in fizzy water and observed what happened.
Raisins are denser than the liquid in the fizzy water, so initially they sink to the bottom of the glass. The water releases carbon dioxide bubbles. When these bubbles stick to the rough surface of a raisin, the raisin is lifted because of the increase in buoyancy. When the raisin reaches the surface, the bubbles pop, and the carbon dioxide gas escapes into the air. This causes the raisin to lose buoyancy and sink.
The boys loved watching their raisins dance!
