Procedural Writing.

Our writing genre for this month has been procedural writing. The boys talked about the parts of procedures and how to use time connectives and bossy verbs to structure their writing. They then wrote procedures independently. The boys have worked unbelievably hard at their writing this year and we are thrilled with the progress they have made.

Georgia O’Keeffe

Our artist of the month this month was the American artist Georgia O’Keeffe. She painted objects found in nature. She is most well know for her paintings of flowers. We explored her work and talked about the techniques she used. She painted the flowers so close up, with so much detail, that sometimes, they did not look like flowers anymore.

The boys loved her work and were inspired to paint their own flowers in the style of O’Keeffe’s paintings.
